The entire process is monitored, controlled and comprehensively documented.
The ingredients pass via a hopper into the heart of the extrusion plant: a co-rotating twin-screw extruder. This is where mixing of the ingredients is completed.
The screws transport the mixture into heated sections of the extruder cylinder. Through application of heat and pressure components of the mixture become a plastic mass. No water or other solvents are necessary.
Then, through a slit-shaped nozzle, the melt is pressed out of the extruder.
